Day 1: Hanoi - Halong Bay
Today we depart hotel at 8h00 and drive towards Halong Bay, truly one of Vietnam ‘s most scenic impressive sights. On arrival in Halong Town we are welcomed on Ginger Junk with a refreshing drink and get some information on boat. This is time for us to settle into a private comfortable cabin and unpack for a three days navigating around Halong Bay. Along the way we enjoy a huge lunch served on board and admire the picturesque scenery of islands. These limestone karst formations are littered with beaches, grottoes and beautiful caves. We will anchor for a leisurely swim in a secluded cove and an enjoyable visit to a water tunnel in a scenic lagoon, using a small bamboo rowing boat. The remainder of day is for your own pleasure; observing the bay, lazing around the deck or simply soaking up the sunshine. O/N on board. (L,D)
Day 2: Halong Bay - Hang Hanh - Cong Do Kayaking
The scenic impressive scenery of Halong bay seems endless. Today we board an escort boat to continually explore this world famous wonder and soak up the sunshine and sea as much as we want by spending our time kayaking. The paddling site is Hanh cave which was naturally decorated with incredible stalactites and stalagmites. They are wonderful for photograph hunters. We discover a scenic grotto by kayak before heading towards Cong Do island in Bai Tu Long. This secluded area is almost off tourist excursions, a wonderful place for an exciting afternoon paddling. The programme may be amended depending on tide conditions. At sunset time we cruise back to our Ginger Junk and enjoy a refreshing drink from the bar. O/N on board. (B,L,D)
Day 3: Halong Bay
The sailing junks navigating past over 3,000 limestone islands and outcrops jutting out of the clear and emerald water of the bay make for a marvelous scene. We have an option to get up early to observe the splendid landscape, do the Tai Chai exercise on sundeck or see the fishmen on a morning catch. The huge breakfast is a perfect way to start our relaxing day. We weave our way past many islets of various shapes and sizes to visit Sung Sot cave, one of the many hidden grottoes beneath towering cliffs. This famous cave is frequently crowded in day time however we will be the first comers to explore its mystical decors in quiet atmosphere.
