Day 1: Arrival - Ho Chi Minh
On arrival at Noi Bai Airport, you are met by our guide and transferred to hotel. The capital of Vietnam, Hanoi is a stylish and gracious city that retains an unique old world charm and some Asia's most striking colonial architecture. The many lakes and parks make for relaxing atmosphere. If time permits we enjoy a cyclo ride through the bustling old quarter streets named after the specific goods once offered for sale at these places. O/N in Ha Noi.

Day 2 : Ho Chi Minh
Today we spend a full day exploring the captivating Ho Chi Minh City. The most places of interest are located near the town center. We pass by the now-demolished wartime American Embassy on our way to the Reunification Palace. This famous mansion was a former residence of the President of Southern Vietnam until end of April 1975. Close to the palace are some striking French colonial structures including the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Sai Gon Post Office. Upon leaving these landmarks we drive to see the crowded Saigon's Chinatown, locally named Cho Lon, which is crammed with fascinating temples as well as mysterious and narrow lanes. We follow it with a visit to the Jade Emperor Pagoda and the War remnant exhibit with a wealth of images from the notorious conflicts. The sightseeing ends up with a walk around the retail Ben Thanh Market where anything and everything is for sale!. O/N in Ho Chi Minh. (B)

Day 3 : Ho Chi Minh - Cu Chi - Tay Ninh - Ba Den Mountain
The incredible underground network in Cu Chi stretched over 200 kilometres and became legendary during the American war. The extensive tunnels have been specially constructed with living areas, weapon factories, filed hospitals, command centres, plus accommodation. Today we have an excursion to Cu Chi Tunnels to visit an exposition hall and a widened section of the tunnels to get a feel of the underground life. There are also possibilities to fire off rounds from an AK47 or MK16 at the nearby rifle range. We drive a short distance to Tay Ninh, the headquarters of Cao Dai Sect , arriving in time to see the ornate temple of Cao Dai and attend the fantastic mid-day service. The next stop is Ba Den Mountain which was a base for the US Army's 25th Infantry Division. We embark on a walk up to the summit for an impressive view of the surrounding areas. O/N in Ho Chi Minh. Day 4 : Ho Chi Minh - Mekong Delta - Dong Tam - Ho Chi Minh
The vast delta region is also a major part of our expedition. We travel by roads to see Dong Tam snake farm, which was the former base of the 9th US Division and Riverine Units. The next stop is Ap Bac village , the former site of the ground battle between the VC and ARVN. On arrival in My Tho we embark a boat navigating around the intricate small canals in the Mekong Delta , which is a great way to observe the local lifestyle close-up and catch a view dotted by many islands. The exciting excursion will pass the lush green vegetation before arriving at the famous Unicorn Island. There are many activities in place, some of which are a walk through village, taste of various seasonal fruits at an orchard and view of handicraft production. Upon leaving My Tho we weave our way to Ben Tre Province to visit some fascinating local industries. O/N in Ho Chi Minh. (B,L)

Day 5 : Ho Chi Minh - Bien Hoa - Long Binh - Xuan Loc - Ho Chi Minh
Heading out of town we drive along the highway No 1 to visit Bien Hoa and Long Binh, the former USARV head quarters. These war sites had been turned into industrial zones and do not have much remains to see but are still evoke some souvenirs of time gone by. Turning southeast, using slightly different route and pass by the 11th Armored Cav’s former headquarters on our way to Xuan Loc. This small town was once the last fierce ARVN/NVA battle in 1975 before the fall of Saigon regime. The battle filed has left its vestiges in form of some memorials but it is still interesting to stroll around this fast growing town. O/N in Ho Chi Minh. (B)

Day 6 : Ho Chi Minh - Pleiku - Camp Enari - Catecka Tea Plantation
The modern comfort will be left behind as we board a flight and travel into Vietnam central highlands. This mountainous region is now at peace but was one the most strategically important position during the Vietnam war. On arrival at Pleiku Airport, you are greeted by our local guide and set off on a drive southwards along the highway No 14 . There are several stops en route to visit Ham Rong Pass and Camp Enari which was once the former headquarter of the 4th Infantry Division. The following war sites are Cacteka plantation, Pleime, and Ban Can. This village is the former operational areas of the 4th Division. O/N in Pleiku. (B)

Day 7: Pleiku - Komtum - Dakto - Pleiku
Upon leaving Pleiku Town we travel by roads to Komtum and pass by the former US DZ site where some French barracks are still standing. This rough mountainous area was once a violent battle field between the NVA units and the 4th Division along the Ho Chi Minh and Sihanouk trails. On arrival in Dakto area we embark on a walk to dig some war vestiges out the former airbase and the Chalie hill. These war sites are still close however we need to have a special permit to explore this military area. Today we make a stop in Komtum Town and visit the traditional culture center, the Komtum Seminary, the Wooden Church and the Banar hill tribe village. They are just some major attractions in town. Day 8: Pleiku - Quy Nhon
The sightseeing tour in central highlands also includes the Camp Halloway and the Jarai hill tribe village. This ethnic minority group has settled there longtime ago and makes for the main local population. We stroll around the village and explore the simply lifestyle of local villagers. They are very poor but have an interesting local culture and colorful history. The following destination is Quy Nhon Town, which was a supply depot of the first Log Command. We cross over the Mang Yang Pass before arriving at An Khe, a major military area where you could find the First Air Cavalry among other units. On arrival in Quy Nhon we spend the remainder of day to relax on the beautiful white sandy beach. O/N in Quy Nhon. (B)

Day 9: Quy Nhon - Quang Ngai - Chu Lai - Hoi An
An early morning start to drive north along the highway No 1. We pass by Phu Cat Airbase which is now managed by Vietnamese Army therefore no picture is allowed . The thrilling drive traverses the Tra Bon River valley which housed an array of war sites including Bong Son, Mo Duc, Phuoc Loc and Duc Pho. The vestige of war time are rarely found in places, mostly rice fields or peaceful villages. We continue travel by roads past the rugged Animate Mountains, sarcastically referred to as "The street without joy" by French soldiers. Along the way we make stop over at Son My District, sense of infamous My Lai incident before continuing on coastal plain to Chu Lai airbase. Here we have a chance to see the work of the Sky hawks. Day 10: Hoi An - Marble Mountain - China Beach - Danang - Hue
The ancient architecture of Hoi An is a fascinating combination of Vietnamese traditional characters with Chinese and Japanese influence. There are plenty to see in this delightful and tranquil town, some of which are the famous Japanese Covered Bridges, the Pottery Museum, the 200 years old Tam Ky House, the Chua Ong Pagoda, the vibrant market. We visit these on our morning walking tour. Heading out of Hoi An we drive north to Hue, stopping en route to visit the sensational Marble Mountains and the China Beach, which was the former R&R ground for the US Marines. The winding roads begin as we make our way up the spectacular Hai Van Pass. At the top of the pass we stop to admire a fantastic view south to Danang and north to Lang Co. We pass by Camp Eagle before arriving in Hue, Vietnam’s the last imperial capital. O/N in Hue. (B)

Day 11: Hue - DMZ - Khe Sanh - Hue
Upon leaving Hue we set off on our drive northwards along the highway 1 and pass by Camp Evans and Fire Support Base Nancy. Along the way we catch a look of Ai Tu Combat Base and Airfield before arriving in Dong Ha , which is well known as Leatherneck Square bounded by Con Thien, Gio Linh, and Cam Lo. The journey continues across the Hien Luong Bridge over the Ben Hai River which demarcated North and South Vietnam. Here is a chance to visit the Doc Mieu Base in the DMZ and the infamous Vinh Moc Tunnels. We travel up the route No 9 to Khe Sanh and pass a series of fire support bases including Rockpile, Camp Carol and Da Krong Bridge. On arrival at Khe Sanh Base we have time to stroll around to visit some of the many battle sites and military camps. There were all but partly cleared by villagers. O/N in Hue. (B)

Day 12: Hue - Hanoi - Halong
The beautiful riverside Thien Mu Pagoda is one of the oldest ancient architectural structures for religious work ship in Hue. We include this in a short cruise along the Perfume River which also gives us a taste of the scenic countryside. We follow it with a trip to the elaborate royal tomb of Emperor Tu Duc. The exploration of Hue could not be complete without a visit to Imperial Citadel, containing the Imperial City and the Purple Forbidden City. This royal residence was all but destroyed during the 1968 Tet Offensive, however it is still fascinating to walk among the ruins. By mid afternoon we are transferred to airport for a short flight to Hanoi. On arrival you are greeted by our guide and driven to Halong Bay, past the scenic countryside. O/N in Halong. (B)

Day 13: Ha Long - Ha Noi
The legendary Halong Bay is truly one of Vietnam's most impressive scenic sights. We embark a traditional boat for a five hour trip around Halong Bay. This exciting cruise provides us a fantastic view of the picturesque scenery blending with the sky and some 3,000 limestone islands rising amazingly from the clear and emerald water. These limestone karst formations are littered with beaches, grottoes and beautiful caves. Along the way we will anchor for a leisurely swim in a secluded cove and an enjoyable visit to one of the many hidden grottoes beneath towering cliffs. We round off our excursion with a seafood lunch served on board and make our way back to Ha Noi, stopping en route to see Dong Trieu pottery village. O/N in Ha Noi. (B,L)

Day 14: Ha Noi
Today we begin our exploration of the charming Hanoi City with Ho Chi Minh Complex containing the mausoleum of the nation's founder Ho Chi Minh, the Presidential Palace and the Ho Chi Minh's house on stilts. Close to this complex is the One Pillar Pagoda, whose origins date back to the foundation of city. We follow it with a visit to the Temple of Literature, which is well known as the first university of Vietnam and the History Museum with an excellent collection of artifacts illustrating the Vietnamese history. The sightseeing also includes the outlaying Ethnologic Museum, dedicated to Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups. Afterwards we continue seeing the infamous Hanoi Hilton Prison where many American Pows were held during the Vietnam War. This prison complex was all but has been recently replaced by a trade center. The one remaining “ Maison Centrale” has been preserved as a museum. The final stop is Hoan Kiem Lake with its sacred temple. In front of this lake is the famous water puppet theatre where we will see a fantastic performance. O/N in Ha Noi. (B)

Day 15: Ha Noi - Departure
There is a free time to relax or further explore Ha Noi. The tour ends after your transfer to Noi Bai Airport for departure. (B)
